About PurWest Inc.
PurWest was formed in 2006 as the result of a number of former professional sports players, physicians, and business friends in the metropolitan Phoenix/Scottsdale area who were looking for an entry into early start up companies via "seed series" funding. In the last decade PurWest has been a vehicle for a number of seed investments. PurWest and affiliates provide strategic planning, and a complete platform of healthcare consulting services. PurWest also has the ability to do full managed IT services at BeStructured, and web design services in Los Angles and Phoenix.
GARY LAUTERBACH
Gary founded PurWest as a vehicle for passive angel investing, and active consulting. Over 40 years in healthcare and medical devices he has been a keen observer of products and services that provide a novel approach to a problem. Gary started his career at Allergan, J&J, and American Hospital Supply in the 1970’s, and commenced in working with start-up companies in 1982. Auto-Syringe, Biox, and Technol were a few unique technologies.
Biox oximetry was revolutionized by Nellcor (now Medtronic), and Gary made a move to this start-up, and enjoyed 20 great years. Gary was a founding member for Merger and Acquisitions, National Accounts, and OEM and Licensing programs. Gary also held various general management positions from 1985 - 2005. From 2005 - 2015 he functioned as the operating general manager of the Western United States for SleepMed.
In the last ten years, Gary has passively invested and provided leadership in approximately 10 startup companies, providing insights by identifying opportunities and challenges. Gary also invested time on the Arizona State University's Start Up Mill, Mayo EIR program, and volunteered time for numerous companies.
